Whitehill-Bordon is one of four towns in England which has been designated as an eco-town. We have been given funding to deliver a sustainable and exemplary eco-development which will pilot some of the foremost technologies of the day as well as becoming a focus for green innovation.
The Whitehill-Bordon Opportunity Project is managed by East Hampshire District Council, but is a partnership between all levels of local government, Natural England, MoD, SEEDA and the Homes and Communities Agency. More information can be found at www.whitehillbordon.com
Being part of the new team you will help to manage the early stages of the project during which we plan to deliver demonstration projects, including the first eco-neighbourhoods, an exhibition/innovation centre, new transport modes and the retrofitting of existing houses. You will be responsible for leading on regeneration and economy, one of the five eco-town themes for the delivery of the Whitehill-Bordon eco-town programme.
As well as being an expert in one of the specialisms, you will manage relationships with relevant experts within statutory agencies and external consultants ensuring they contribute to the delivery of the themes.
You will need to have significant professional experience at a senior level within a regeneration role and experience of delivering complex regeneration programmes at an operational level. You will need to have an understanding of economic development issues and a commitment to the eco-town ethos and be passionate about dealing with the challenge of climate change.
