Based in our London office at Hatton Garden, a transport planning analyst with experience in SATURN and / or EMME is required to join an overall team of some 60 staff based in St Albans, London and Redhill. The Transportation Planning Team undertakes modelling, analysis, policy and planning work for public and private clients, for public and private travel modes.

Key responsibilities will include:

Task management of specifying, supervising, analysing and reporting on a range of quantitative and qualitative exercises; Undertaking analytical tasks.

Experience and interest is expected in the following:

Transport modelling and forecasting of highway and / or public transport demand and supply; Knowledge and experience using SATURN and / or EMME, including developing and auditing networks, running models, checking results and analysing outputs; and Ideally wider experience, knowledge or interest in transport investment appraisal; business case assessment and development; transport planning and development; accessibility and Accession; and the latest transport policy developments at local, regional and national levels.

The Transportation Planning team works alongside colleagues in Traffic Engineering, Development Planning, and Intelligent Transport Systems with an overall strength of over 500 technical staff throughout the UK.

Recent and current projects include:

Development of strategic multi-modal models for DfT, Highways Agency and local authority applications in the south and east of England; BAA Surface Access Framework Consultancy; Modelling and advice to the Highways Agency on the implications of the East of England Regional Spatial Strategy; Railplan modelling for the Thameslink Upgrade; Professional advice and technical support to Rail Franchise Bidders; Development of a suite of models in the Harlow and Stansted areas, including accessibility modelling; Network strategy and development control advice to the Highways Agency, including micro-simulation modelling; and Advising financial institutions, scheme sponsors and promoters on a wide variety of European private sector toll road initiatives.

We will provide you with technical and management challenges in a busy but supportive environment, and further training to support your career development as necessary.

You will work closely with staff who have backgrounds in transport modelling, business case development, accessibility planning, sustainable development, social research, stakeholder consultation and high level policy and strategy advice.
