Harrogate Borough Council

Project Officer - Leeds City Region Collaboration and Innovation

Recently selected as one of two pilot city regions across the country, the Leeds City Region Partnership is working to drive forward economic recovery and a more prosperous economic future for our city region. As a key part of this agenda, the city region's local authorities, universities, businesses and the Regional Development Agency are working in collaboration to make our economy work better.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as part of a small project team with responsibility for developing and delivering an Innovation Capital Prospectus and Investment Plan - a roadmap to enable business to flourish through innovation-led activity and develop the Leeds City Region as a globally-recognised Innovation Capital.

Whilst the Project Officer will be employed as part of the Economic Development Team at Harrogate Borough Council, the post holder will also be expected to regularly work alongside other members of the Innovation Capital Executive team in Bradford and Leeds, as well as across the wider Leeds City region. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are therefore essential.

You will have a track record of carrying our project work and supporting partnership initiatives as well as experience of marketing and promotion. As well as excellent written and oral communication skills, you will have an understanding of innovation and wider business/economic issues.

(Suitable for secondment, subject to agreement of current employer)

Closing date for Applications: 28th February 2010.
Interviews to be held: 8th March 2010.
